- Explain correct and current infection prevention and control information clearly to the work group.
- Regularly provide information about identified hazards and the outcomes of infection risk assessments.
- Provide opportunities for the work group to seek further information on workplace infection prevention and control issues and practices.
- Implement infection prevention and control policy and procedures with members of the work group.
- Maintain liaison with person responsible for organization-wide infection prevention and control.
- Provide coaching and support as required to ensure that individuals or teams are able to implement infection prevention and control practices.
- Adopt work procedures to reflect appropriate infection prevention and control practice.
- Promptly resolve issues raised through consultation or refer to the appropriate personnel.
- Implement workplace procedures for dealing with infection prevention and control risks and hazardous events.
- Encourage colleagues to report infection risks and to improve infection prevention and control procedures.
- Monitor work procedures to control infection risks.
- Identify and respond to inadequacies in work procedures and infection prevention and control measures or report to designated personnel.
- Use aggregate infection prevention and control information reports to identify hazards, to monitor and improve risk control methods and to indicate training needs.
