This course describes the knowledge and skills required to participate in planning, implementation and evaluation of programs providing activities for children.
COURSE STRUCTURE
This course is divided in 9 sections with questions posed at the end to reflect on learning. After successful completion of the course, learners will be awarded a certificate of course completion.
At the end of this course, learners would be familiar with the following:
- The value of leisure and recreation and lifespan considerations.
- Creating goals and monitoring the programs.
- Involving children and youth in planning and considering their stage of development.
- Range of activities.
- Planning for resources.
- Risk management, duty of care and outings.
- Contingency plans.
- Assessing the feasibility of program before implementing it.
- Writing, documenting and timetabling the program.
